Did you know? :-)

1. The armed Salafi group Jund al Sham in Ein el Helwe refugee camp in South Lebanon is referred to by the inhabitants of the camp as "Jund al Sitt". Jund al Sitt Bahiya al Hariri, that is.

2. The bank (Bank al-Bahr al-Mutawassit / BankMed) that was robbed, and through which the Fateh al-Islam people used to withdraw their cheques, is owned by Hariri Empire. Now you will say, why would they rob the bank (or rather, $1,500 from the bank) ? Because Hariri Empire, somehow "discovered" that Syria (someone should write a Syrian version of "Blame Canada"...) has managed to infiltrate and use the Hariri Empire bank to pay the Fateh al-Islam fighters, and duly froze the accounts. BankMed is like a pressure cooker (I never liked it when my mom used pressure cooker, once she forgot to open the 'air' vent thing and the whole thing was about to explode. Now I always say, if I survived the pressure cooker, I can survive anything). It seems the Bank al Madina scandal will pale in comparison to this one. Interesting times indeed...

The plot/conspiracy/Syrian infiltration thickens.
Stay tuned for more fascinating developments, folks.

And now for the best part... I now have added a new label/category on my blog: Blame Syria.

No...

Thanks Hilal.
That is fabulous.

So now we know Jund al Sham is different from Fateh al Islam. Cool.
That's reassuring.

What I loved most was this, though:

Since you have added a blame Syria tag, I would like to present recently uncovered evidence that blames the extinction of the dinosaurs on the corrupt and evil Syrian regime.

The Egyptians, Hittites and of course not to mention the Assyrians, all invaded Phoenicia as part of a grand Syrian plot to control Lebanon.

Alexander the Great, the Romans and the Crusaders were all allies of Bashars great, great, etc. grandfather otherwise they would have by-passed Lebanon altogether.

Furthermore, the man who shot Archduke Ferdinand was Syrian.

Hitlers mother? Syrian.

Oh, and would any other country in the world provide such great leaders as Geagea and Jumblatt? One who obviously sees no irony in calling for THE TRUTH about the murder of one prime minister after being behind the murder of another and the other who was ever so happy working with the Syrians even though they killed his own father but isn't now that they killed a man who hated his guts?

But hey, you can fool some of the people all of the time cany you?

Got a question for you. If it does turn out to be true that Hariri Inc did fund these people, would you stop supporting them?

i don't support Hariri Inc. and when i used to participate in Anti-Hariri Inc. and in Anti-Syrian Occupation protest and work i used to do it along with 20 or 30 at max...

I don't boast or gloat... but i do hate stupid unbased unrealistic rather imaginary accusations that are absolutely illogical and are just founded on dumbass grounds that get us no where with absolutely no result.. ur explanations and ur dumb dumb dumb correlations totally disconnect from simple facts like the country has been in a fucking "violence campaign" since 2004
and u don't even recognize the violence as "organized". and u elude urselves with stupid pseudo-postmodernist methods inno nothing is true and nothing is what it seems. and all that is misplaced and delusionary. and if anyone counters that abnormal bubble of yours u accuse them with different types of names and accusations

just tell me what exactly do u think is happening in lebanon? let's see... israel/US (or maybe Saudi and Kuwait bla bla) killed hariri.. and then killed all the rest behind him that are anti-Syrian and then bombed the hell out of every corner in the country when it could... and managed to throw the country into oblivion... to create unrest (as if the Israeli need another chaotic border, let alone lebanon) and then suddenly invested amidst this total chaos in fighting a "state-free" hezbollah in a losing war... after it deliberately kicked two of its soldiers into lebanon's borders... bombed the hell out of everyone... failed itself and now is acting as if it is baring the repercussions... and now they continue through al-Qaeda (that is their tool with the US) in order embarass Syria... despite the fact that every idiot on this earth knows that Bashar's Baath is quite convenient for them more than anyone else in Syria.

give me a fucking break u too... the country is under fire... it is already divided into sectarian and mafia and fiefdom camps... and u r sitting on ur asses and analyzing what exactly or getting where exactly i have no fucking clue!

oh... ur defending the last standing line of defense of the resistance and the true line of muwajaha...
BULLSHIT!

even in Iran the people is sick and tired of paying taxes and seeing iranian money spent in support of Hezbollah. and u r defending an Islamic resistance that sees no alternative to an Islamic Umma after the "Liberation" of Palestine. sunni shiite divisions in addition to authoritarian regimes that oppress the arab masses that have cynically enough become highly religious and fundamentalist in approach...
i'm trying to stretch limits here... what exactly is ur fucking standpoint???
what according to that dumbass frame of urs is happening in lebanon?
or do u just DEBUNK like ur fellow host?

Ghawwar toshi answered the hotel manager in Hotel Sa77 il-Nom when he asked him why he's staring into the window for so long: seedi nater il-7mar yalli bi saba2il 2o7osneh... (i'm waiting for the donkey in the horse'race)

Street Eyes,

You dont boast or gloat but you do insult which is worse. Your first paragraph simply translates as if you don't agree with my opinion then its dumb. And then you presume to state what I believe or recognize and even worse you amalgamate all the theories against March 14th as my beliefs BEFORE asking me what I believe.

First let me tell you what I agree with you on.
The violence is organised and Lebanon is under fire.

Now, I will, unlike you, try not to insult your opinions or beliefs by giving you my opinion.

There is a war going on in Lebanon for control of the country yes. But Syria is not alone in trying to destabalise the country and the whole war is far more than just Lebanese sovreignty versus Syrian control. You may think my opinions are "pseudo-postmodernist"; If you do not think there is more to whats going than simply Syria, then I think you are naive.

Much of what is going is part of the US agenda to remove every anti-Israeli group that has any semblence of strength, ie Saddam, Iran, Hamas and Hizballah. The goal is to remove any and all support for the Palestinians so that they will sign whatever is put in front of them as a final peace plan.

March 14th are part of that plan, because if you remove the opposition, they get to keep the status quo of running the country as their own little fiefdom.
Israel is part of the plan, because with a US friendly govt. and no Hizballah, they get access to what is the most important thing in the world to them, the Litani, without which there will be no peace with the Palestinians;

Without the resistance, the Litani would have been diverted into Israel long ago.

As to who killed who, who is sponsoring whom, I have no hard evidence so I will not claim I know. But I do have a little intelligence (obviously not much in your opinion) and can join the dots. I can see that March 14th would like to see Hizballah removed and I know, esp. considering their combined criminality, what they would be willing to do to get that. I also know that that the last 3 bombs were obviously not intended to kill which is odd if they were planted by people who were willing to behead sleeping and unarmed soldiers dont u think?

But finally, I will not sit back and watch these dogs try and impose an American solution on Lebanon by blaming everything on Syria, while they get away with raping the country.

So Mr Insulter, that is whats happening in my opinion. As usual, a war between other states on our land with our complicity.

If you are going to reply, habibi, do try and be a bit more civil, shou awlak?

-Sidonia News? Purely Syrian infiltration.

Syrian interference? Less is more.

Blame Syria.... :D ok, 75% of the blame goes to Syria, and 25% to Canada (not to anger the Americans, they are after all supplying the heroic army with ummm bulletproof vests & night vision goggles).

How could one forget the Israeli ability to identify the nationality of a corpse - Assuming of course that the Iranians don't go into battle with their passports and identity papers in hand just in case they need a last minute holiday.

But of course that was just a lie; Nothing like this here; These guys are all Syrian backed because their leader was in a Syrian jail and the camp is so close to the Syrian border and that by itself to the m14'ers is all the evidence you need.

Nothing of course to do with the Nato airbase they want to build in the north or the need to silence those they have been funding or the desire to build a new army from scratch.

From what I understand the Army is very very angry at being set up and the reason M14 went from Nasrallah is a traitor to Nasrallah is a traitor but we will now make the same recommendations as he did in one day last weekend was that the army is "looking at its options" after this crisis is finished with.

You got ask, if Syria is as powerful and influential as these people make out, why are we putting up a fight? They are next door and will be there long after the Americans go and find a new toy to play with.

Moz. finally a constructive argument regardless of whether i agree or not. surprisingly i do.

i disagree with ur theory on the fact that the 3 bombings were not "meant to kill" and how it means that it is not fatah al-Islam.

it may be that it is not Fatah al-Islam but it is someone in parallel with Fatah's aim or whatever the whole issue has been started for in the first place.

if u trace back the aimless debating u shall realize that i was stating the following: the camps have become drowned with a 'regime' of militarization and crime by an oligarchy of paramilitary bands of thieves and criminals who rob off every bit of money when capable, are engaged in organized crime, and have been out of control even for their own leaderships. and the syrians have a long history of investing in that. it traces all the way back to the days of 1973 (the Palestinian Liberation Army as opposed to PLO). this legacy of investing in the anarchic splintering and mushrooming of Palestinian Organizations is not new and is EXCLUSIVELY played by syria... neither the US nor Israel have managed to breach the net that Syria has woven. Even Iran couldn't get a direct link to Hamas without passing by the Syrian patronage.

Now, you can argue that any other side can play on the idea that Palestinian groups are mainly remotely controlled by Syria (ex: US and Israel) i wouldn't agree more!

Now... concerning Fatah al-Islam:
1- How did Shaker Absi leave Syria if he was "WANTED" by the regime?
2- Don't you think that Fathi Yakan's declaration that he's trying to mediate "between the Lebanese army and Damascus" is kinda self-explanatory??? Did u check on how Damascus dealt with him after his stupid mistake?
3- Have you heard Mahmoud Abbass' speech? He clearly mentioned that it is Hamas that is against any initiative to 'politically' find a way out.
4- Where the hell is Khaled Mesha'al? Not one word! don't you find that weird???
5- How do you think did the fighters smuggle this unbelievably intense logistic support of weaponry and ammunition and money? Of course, not finding any other answer... those eager to vinidicate 14 of March (who i am still insisting on 'looking'as their defendant despite the fact that i am their first enemy) have claimed that they are the ones supporting them! fine from where did they get the weaponry with such a heavy load? from the sea or from the airport? sea is controlled by UNIFIL, airport as u know 14 of March themselves have for so long argued that it is under the control of "Lahoudist" security officer...
6- About the financial support: first of all... this article that angry anarchist cited.. she totally eclipsed the division that the author clarified between the Salafi political movements and the militant ones... she merged them under one concept.. inaccurate. plus... what is so suprising about the support that salafi's get from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait? ma they are salafi too... plus there are many non-governmental agencies that operate beyond capable regime patronage... similar to the case in iran... even if these HAVE ACTUALLY funded militant groups... it doesn't mean that HARIRI FUNDED THEM TOO BCOS HE HAS A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH THE REGIMES OF THE SAME ALLEGED NATIONALITY? that is crazy...

7- ABout the Bank Med claims... have u ever heard of a terrorist organization recieving money by check!??!!? International law has been buffed up with means to spot money laundering and supporting terrorism (regardless of whether we refute int'l law as a concept even) and you guys claims that a terrorist group is just walking into a bank and getting checks... tayyib ok... let's assume u are accurate.. and the bank robbery that took place 3 months ago was just a trick and all who witnessed it are "in on it"... say the group was actually getting checks from the bank... how can u correlate that it is hariri who is giving them the money? just cos he owns the bank (indirectly)?? let's see... if i promised to give u a 1,000,000$ to arm urself... and i deal with SGBL for instance... and i passed u the checks from SGBL... would that mean that the owner of SGBL is supporting u to arm urself?

8- this whole media game that has drowned every single analyst and person into the never ending details of "the finest details of criminology and detective work" has also managed to get us to lose sight of any political international relations logic that u FINALLY used... it is a war on control... and both SYRIA and the US are involved.. OF COURSE.. and the whole lebanese polity is involved in bringing down the whole country to ashes. but let's see.. why are you only vindicating the US??? why don't you vindicate BOTH???? are you reading Syrian newspapers???? have u read the Interior Minister's statements today??? what about the Iranian Foreign Minister's statements as he met Talal Arslan??? Don't you think those are as clear as "letters of intent" as they can be?????

Ofcourse, i apologize to you if i seemed insulting.. you should've seen the words i was first "flashed with" by angry anarchist... who has messed with the wrong asshole and i already said that and i stick to it :-)

this dogmatism in accusations and distirbuting "decrees" and letters of recognition doesn't apply on me... all such "imagined postures" are as worthless as their source.

Angry anarchist... don't worry honey... look at my blog before u try to pass ur clever capitalization on the numbers and names.. and next time get ur info more accurately... cos the "Shahed" organization itself has not yet confirmed HOW these people died and whether or not the army takes responsibility of their blind death (a fact that we are heavily grieved by)
u still use the same dogma in attacking the army and accusing it of "MASSACRES".. and yet fail to mention Fatah al-Islam as a perpetrator... i could understand grief that would stem from this whole tragedy... as a human i am equally apalled... but as a "researcher" or a "scholar" i should manage that and look for facts before exploding! people are being forced to stay in the same buildings with the fighters... and the fighters have always been SHOOTING FIRST on the army. my question to u that u continually haven't answered... the army is being attacked by a group shooting and using heavy artillery too! (u fail to remember that of course) how should it respond to that group (knowing that it is taking civilian hostages and is sniping those trying to leave!)???? should they run away and let the group take more space and more convenience??? WHAT SHOULD THEY DO? ohh... and speaking of allowing civilians out... DONT YOU FIND IT KINDA WEIRD THAT THE ONLY TIMES WHEN PALESTINIAN GROUPS' MEDIATION ATTEMPTS ONLY WORKED TWICE IN THE PRESENCE AND PERMISSION OF HAMAS???? and only after Pan Ki Mun threatened Moallem of extreme measures if he did not interfere and allowed civilians out???

i am not justifying the army... but i finish with what i started with.... the situation and the reality here can not be seen as the army pounding civilians for fun... this is a legacy of years and decades of armed presence and absenting state, government, and law.... this group now is not just terrorist... it has occupied a whole fucking territory... this is a fULL SCALE MILITARY SHOWDOWN BETWEEN TWO ENTITIES... not some terrorists runnig from the law!

there's much more to argue and i think it is aimless... bcos each has his position and u guys are taking it from a political standpoint... a point of view that decides on what u follow... I DONT.. i am not a partisan nor have i ever been interested in being one in the lebanese scene... i am not happy with any of the conflicting sides in the region. i don't give a damn about u accusing me (or anyone else) of being a Zionist and AMerican and all that crap....

Street eyes,
In regards to the bombs are you disagreeing that they were meant to kill or that they were FAI? I think a bomb in an empty car park or a shopping area at night after the shops are closed is obviously to me anyway, meant to minimise casulties. And as we have seen that is not the FAI way. Wahabis seem to glory in killing innocent people.

You may be right that it could have been someone who is supportive of FAI but you have to accept that it could, and considering that they were non-lethal more likely, be someone taking advantage of the situation to destabalise the country.

I agree with you that most of the Palestinian groups are abunch of criminals out to make money and Syrias historical involvememt (but then again who in Lebanon have Syria not been involved with?), but I disagree with your assessment vis-a-vis Hamas. Furthermore, stating that Syria is exclusively involved is wrong. Israel and the US quite openly aided Hamas when it first started hoping it would weaken Arafat and the PLO.

Concerning FAI:
1-I may be wrong but my understanding is he is wanted in Jordan not in Syria. In Syria he was jailed and then released.
2-Yakan? Are we talking the same Yakan who is the leading Wahabi in Lebanon and friend of the Hariris?
3-You just said the Palestinian groups are a bunch of corrupt criminals and you want me to believe anything the most corrupt of them says? You can't choose to believe them when you want and not when you don't.
4-No, if I had to rely on Syrian patronage and I wasn't sure, like most people, what is happening and who is behind the FAI I would keep my mouth shut aswell.
5-Its a Palestinian camp where weapons come in all the time. If you are claiming to be fighting for the Palestinian cause you don't need to smuggle anything in. How did the weapons come in? Surely you have not missed all the reports of weapons coming in by sea over the last eight months. How did they get past UNIFIL? Surely you don't think UNIFIL is neutral in all this? And the airport, M14 can argue all they like about a Lahoudist security officer but it is them that have given an entire floor to American and German "Security advisers".
6-Salafism, as far as I have understood it, does not have much of line between poilitical and militant, since it involves imposing their views on all of us by force. Therefore I don't agree that there is a large distinction, but I may be wrong. The funding may not mean that Hariri funded them too but lets not be naive. The relationship the Hariris have with Saudi means that I doubt there would be funding without them at least knowing about it.
7-I have no idea how a terrorist gets paid :) But international law to stop this kind of thing requires the co-operation of the bank, so if the bank is involved it wont report it. The robbery was not a trick, it was an attempt by FAI to get what they thought they deserved. You will notice that not long after Hershs article, Welch, the governor general of Lebanon, came and told M14 that the support for these groups had to be stopped as it was embarrasing the Bush administration. When FAA were told there would be no more money they decided to rob the bank in revenge.
8-I attack the US primarily because given the choice, I believe that Lebanon has more to lose if the US wins. Syria is next door and we can always deal with them later. Syria may have a coup tomorrow or in 5 years. The US will ALWAYS put Israel above Lebanon.

Moz... there's a lot of assumption and prediction in your ideas.

You apply the same logic that M14ers use to accuse Syria. it is no different.

Juxtaposing Syria as better than the use and that we'll deal with them later?? that's quite simplistic... no intervention is more "accepptable"...
There's no such thing as friendly occupation either... and if the primacy goes to fighting the US/ISRAELI axis... Then having Islamists claim to do the job is not the unquestioned and ONLY MEANS to do so... in fact this itself is our weakpoint too...

did u imagine all the Welsh thing on ur own? or do u have minutes of his meetings and records of his words??? or do u allow urself to make these unbelievably amazing correlations and then refute similar lunacy when others accuse Syria?

plus.. do not divide syria from the US... dont forget.. they were in lebanon with the blessing of the US... so do not base urself on the idea that u have the US as the anti-GOOD of this region and Syria as OPPOSING that... it is only like that now... with things changing quite immensely... it is a conflict of interests not ideologies... or else you would see the golan on fire with liberation attempts... right golaniyya??

street eyes,

of course theres a lot of assumption on my part. The amount of dealing, double dealing, foreign backers and players involved and the lack of hard evidence available to anyone means we are all playing join the dots.

I did not say Syria is better nor am i supporting their occupation or influence on the country, nor am I saying that I will live with it. What I said was Syrian policy like Syrian governments are unpredictable (and dangerous) but I regard both the US/Israel and Syria as opponents of the country. Why I say oppose the US first is that they are capabale of far more destructivenss in Lebanon than the Syrians and they will NEVER allow Lebanon to be able to defend itself. They will always work against the resisitance while not allowing the army to defend the country.

You say having Hizballah (i assume thats who you mean by Islamists) do the opposing isn't the only way to do so but you don't tell me who or how the other ways are. For now, i think the organisational strengths of Hizballah, the resources available to it and the obviously well run intelligence network, are Lebanons best line of defence against Israeli plans. And considering the lengths the Israelis and the US are going to to get rid of them means they agree with me.

I knew it was a compliment. :P But even well meaning compliments are often full of bias :P Men are stronger, women gentler ? Um, tell that to the cops I have punched and fought against ??? :P But anyway, I am being sarcastic to a certain extent , I am much less of an arsehole in real life as I am online. :P

What is "Lebanese" ? :)
I am a citizen of Lebanon, if that is what you mean. :P

Yeah , trekking is not bad. And actually, I do not like cars , and almost 99% of the time I go around the city (Beirut) on foot even if I have to walk 2 hours non-stop.
